Wigan Athletic have agreed to sell their winger Callum McManaman to West Bromwich Albion with the 23-year-old finalising the deal. West Brom confirmed the switch for McManaman on their official Twitter.
Callum McManaman’s fee is undisclosed but the former Everton youth player is thought to cost around the £5m. McManaman will wear the number 19 shirt at The Hawthorns and is a key addition to Tony Pulis’ side ahead of his task to keep West Brom in the Premier League.
McManaman moved on from Everton’s academy to join Wigan Athletic upon being released by the Merseysiders. The 2009/10 campaign was his first in the Wigan first team but he only made 1 Premier League appearance. Mcmanaman had a 14 game Championship spell with Blackpool before establishing himself at Wigan. McManaman leaves Wigan with 9 league goals to his name in 59 league showings.
West Brom fans seem pretty happy with the deal, despite McManaman registering just 1 assist in 55 Championship fixtures. West Brom will be hoping to add further to their squad before the January transfer window closes but will no doubt be pleased to see themselves holding on to forward star Saido Berahino.
Is Callum McManaman a good signing for the Baggies?
